Privacy Policy

Effective September 3, 2026

This policy describes the information N400Test.com handles, the browser storage used by its study tools, and the third-party services that load only after consent.

What information we collect

You can use the study tools without giving us your name or email address. You voluntarily provide contact information only through these two features:

Newsletter signup. If you submit the email signup form, we receive your email address. That address is passed through Resend (our email delivery service) and delivered to the site owner's inbox. It is not added to any marketing platform or CRM, and it is not stored in a database we operate.

Contact form. If you use the contact form, we receive your name (optional), email address, the reason you selected, and your message. These are forwarded via Resend to the site owner and are not stored anywhere by us beyond that email thread.

How we use it

Your email address is used only to respond to you or, if you signed up for the newsletter, to send you study tips and updates. We do not sell or rent contact data. Resend processes it only to deliver the message or email as described below.

Accounts and direct identification

There are no user accounts on this site: no login, password, or user profile. We do not use session-recording tools or behavioral heatmaps, and we do not maintain a first-party user database. If you contact us or subscribe, we receive the information described above. If you consent to Google Analytics or advertising, Google receives pseudonymous event, device, browser, network, and online-identifier data as described below; that data should not be treated as anonymous.

Local storage

The site's functional study features use your browser's localStorage whether or not you accept Google Analytics or advertising. These records let the site remember settings and progress on that browser. The app does not upload the stored records themselves, but if you accept analytics, separate event messages may contain some overlapping summary fields described in the Google Analytics section.

n400_practice_sessions stores up to 50 completed practice-test records: timestamps, test mode, score and question totals, pass threshold and result, and IDs of missed questions.

n400_mock_interview stores the best mock-interview civics score, completion count, most recent simulated decision, and the time it was updated.

civics_learned_v1 and civics_bookmarked_v1 store the numeric IDs of civics questions marked learned or bookmarked when those study controls are used.

n400-path:last-distractors stores recently displayed wrong-answer choices by question so multiple-choice options do not immediately repeat.

n400_cookie_consent stores whether you selected accepted or declined so the site can remember your Google Analytics and advertising choice.

You can remove these records by clearing this site's browser storage or site data. If the browser blocks localStorage or it is unavailable, the site catches the storage error and continues without reliably saving the affected preference or progress.

Third-party services

Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics is enabled only after you select Accept all in the cookie banner. It receives pseudonymous event data that can distinguish a browser or session, together with standard technical fields such as page URL and title, referrer, device and browser information, and coarse location. Google may process an IP address when receiving a request to derive location; IP anonymization is requested in our configuration, and the site does not receive a full IP address in Analytics reports. We do not intentionally include names, email addresses, contact-form messages, or the text of answers you type in our Analytics event parameters. Google controls its own processing and may associate events with cookies or other online identifiers under its policies and your settings.

Page and civics-library events. With consent, the site sends page-view events for route changes, including the page path or full location and page title. A visit to the civics-question library is therefore recorded as a page view. Learned and bookmarked question IDs remain in local storage and are not sent by the site's current Analytics event code.

Practice and civics-test events. With consent, events can record test start or restart, test and input mode, pass-prompt actions, a submitted question ID and whether it was scored correct, completion score and question total, pass result, and result-sharing method and pass status. The answer text entered by the user is not included in these event calls.

Mock-interview events. With consent, events can record mock-interview start or restart, civics mode, stage progression, the simulated N-400 review outcome, whether the simulation was terminated, civics questions asked and correct, civics pass status, and the simulated final decision. The current event calls do not include the user's underlying N-400 selections or spoken or typed answer text.

Other interaction events. With consent, the site can record newsletter-submit attempt, success, or error; referral call-to-action views or clicks and their page surface; and result-sharing channel. These event calls do not include the submitted email address or contact-form contents. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Data collected is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you decline or make no choice, the site does not load the Analytics script. If you withdraw consent after accepting, the site sends Google a denied-consent signal and stops its future Analytics event calls; a script already loaded on that page cannot be unloaded.

Google Fonts. This site loads fonts from Google's servers when a page is rendered. Google's servers receive your IP address as part of that request. Their use of that data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not this one.

Resend. Contact form submissions and newsletter signups are delivered via Resend. Resend processes email addresses as a data processor on our behalf. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Google AdSense. The site may display advertisements through Google AdSense. The AdSense script is first loaded only after you select Accept all in the cookie banner. Google may then use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy policy. If you decline or make no choice initially, the site does not load the script. If you withdraw consent after accepting, the site sends Google denied signals for analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization, and suppresses future site analytics events; a script already loaded on that page cannot be unloaded.

Your choices

You are never required to submit any information to use this site. Every study tool (practice tests, civics questions, reading and writing practice) is fully available without providing an email address or any other data. If you would like the information you submitted via the contact form or newsletter signup removed, contact us and we will delete it from our records.
