Our Story
We remember the stack of notes on the table. The tabs open on the phone. The quiet fear of not knowing if we'd studied the right things. The feeling that you're completely on your own. That's exactly why we built this.
Our Story
We are immigrants. We went through the naturalization process ourselves - the paperwork, the waiting, the studying, the interview. We know what it feels like to be responsible for proving something that should have been simple to prepare for, but somehow wasn't.
When we started studying, we looked everywhere. Government websites with outdated PDFs. YouTube videos buried under ads. Paid apps that charged monthly subscriptions just to show you flashcards. Study guides that cost $40. Community forums full of conflicting advice. It was overwhelming - and expensive if you wanted anything structured.
We kept asking: where is the one clean, free, trustworthy place for all of this? We looked. We couldn't find it. So we searched harder. Still nothing.
"We searched for a free, comprehensive, simple tool. It didn't exist. So we built it."
We built N400Test.com not as a product, not as a startup, and not as a business. We built it because we needed it - and because we knew thousands of other immigrants needed it too. Every single tool on this site exists because someone, somewhere, sat at a table the night before their interview and wished it did.
The Bigger Picture
We want to be honest about why this matters - and why we made the choices we did.
In the age of AI and technology, the internet has never been more capable of helping people learn. Yet the best tools for immigrants are routinely gated behind subscriptions, paywalls, and premium tiers.
Immigrants going through the naturalization process are often working multiple jobs, raising families, and navigating a new country. A monthly subscription fee is not a small ask - and it shouldn't be required to study for a civic right.
The anxiety around the citizenship interview is real. We've lived it. We refused to build something that monetizes that anxiety. N400Test.com will always be free - not as a marketing tactic, but as a principle.
